Policy Statement
Retaliation occurs when the College treats applicants, students, employees, former employees, or people closely associated with these individuals less favorably for reporting discrimination, participating in a discrimination investigation or opposing discrimination. Retaliation is intimidation, threats, coercion, or discrimination against any individual for the purpose of interfering with any right or privilege secured by Title IX and its implementing regulations or because an individual has made a report or complaint, testified, assisted, or participated or refused to participate in any manner in an investigation, proceeding, or hearing under this policy. Retaliation is strictly prohibited at The Christ College.

Any student who has sought an informal or formal resolution of a complaint or grievance under any associated policy, or who has participated in any investigation into such a complaint or grievance, and who subsequently believes they have been subjected to retaliation of any kind by any College employee, administrator, officer, or student is directed to immediately report the alleged retaliatory conduct to the Director of Wellness and Engagement. If the complaint of retaliation is against the Director of Wellness and Engagement, the student may submit the complaint to the Dean of Student Affairs.

Reports of retaliation will be investigated promptly in a manner intended to protect confidentiality as much as practical, consistent with the College’s obligation to conduct a full and fair investigation. The party conducting the investigation will notify the complainant of the results of the investigation.
